Surprise: Obama shill gets top priority in White House press conference

In a departure that left mamy White House reporters scratching their heads, Pitney got first-rate treatment at the press conference, being escorted from the lower press area to the main briefing room by White House Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest.
Pitney was seated near the front of the jam-packed room in a space created for him. Pitney said he arrived late to the press conference and that’s why he got help getting seated.
After the president’s opening statement, Obama called on Pitney second to The Associated Press reporter and by name.
Why don’t we just quit with all the pretense and fill the entire WH press corp with keynote speakers from the Yearly Kos – or nutroots nation, whatever they call it these days.
I guess we see how Obama plans on combating that one station he says “won’t quit attacking him.” Here’s an idea for you, Mr. President: When you finally get rid of Gibbs how about you replace him with Chris Matthews and have Olby and Maddow take turns asking him what your favorite flavor of ice cream is. That’s the kind of press conference Americans want to see – not any of those scathing, pointed questions that we saw during the Bush era.
